global abortion laws
Hope some people pushing back on the attack on abortion in the u.s. keep in mind that birthing autonomy is an intersectional privilege on a global level. Just like there are many people in the u.s. whose access to free & safe abortion (& pregnancy) has never really existed, there are even more people worldwide who don't have these things even on paper - & in many cases the u.s., nato, & five eyes send hundreds of millions of dollars a year to these governments. This also means that there are many people who have been fighting back under incredibly repressive conditions who deserve equal support & attention
The bleakest part is we are going to continue to criminalize poverty. People will steal formula, or try to make their own, or water theirs down. Babies will be hurt and parents will be sucked into incarceration instead of helped.
Jen Psaki said "talk to your doctor" if you're concerned about your baby's well being. Which, of course, assumes an awful lot.
having "i was a former channer" as a pinned post is frankly more obnoxious than having "i was a soylent consumer". these are both horrible things i didn't need to know about you, the fact that you want me to know this about you is weird, and i'm not sure that you have the correct amount of shame about this objectively terrible thing you used to do. but at least if you consumed soylent you were only really harming yourself.
